The Transfagarasan road,the most spectacular in Romania, is crossing the mountains bounding 2 regions,Transylvania and Muntenia. The most important tourist attractions nearby are Lake Vidraru, dam Vidraru (one of the biggest in Europe), the glaciar lake Balea and the Balea Waterfall.
In the northern part of Bihor Mountains there are the "Cetatile Ponorului", the most exquisite and imposing rock formation in Romania and in 1952 was declared natural reservation and then natural monument.
Prahova Valley is a wonderful tourist attraction, with well-known resorts such as Sinaia, Busteni, Predeal and Poiana Brasov.

The Danube river has its spring located in Germany, and it has tributaries from 10 different countries. After crossing four capitals along a 2806 km course, the Danube flows into the Black Sea forming at its end the "Danube Delta". The Danube Delta, included in the UNSCO'S world heritage, it hosts over 1200 plant species, over 100 fish species but also turtles, foxes, wild boars. This region is also home for over 300 species of birds.

The Romanian seashore is also known as the "Romanian Riviera". Cape Midia and the village "Vama veche" are the boundaries of the Romanian seashore which spreads over a 245 km distance.
